- Sophie Becker was a member of the mixed 4x400m relay team that made history by becoming the first Irish relay athletics team to make an Olympic final in 2021 when they set an Irish record in the heats at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Key Achievements
- 2022: World finalist mixed 4x400m who set an Irish Record to qualify for the relay. European finalist with women’s 4x400m team who broke the Irish Record to qualify for the final. National 400m champion. Set a new personal best of 51.83. Competed in the Indoor World Athletics Championships in the 400m and 4x400m.
- 2021: Olympic finalist in the Tokyo Games in the 4x400m mixed relay. The team set a new Irish record in the heat to become the first Irish relay team to make an Olympic final. Set a new personal best of 52.32 for the 400m, a time which moved her to fifth in the All-time Irish list. Part of the 4x200m relay that finished second at the World relay championships.
