Ciara Mageean

Professional Track Athlete Ciara Mageean is a two-time Olympian and three-time European Medalist (1500m).


Ciara was forth  in the 2023 World Championships and won silver in the 2022 European Championships, Commonwealth Games and Diamond League Final.


The Portaferry woman holds the  Irish record holder for 800m (1:59.27), 1000m (2:31.06), 1500m (3:56.61) and 1 mile (4:14.58) as well as the 1500m.


She won bronze in the 1500m at the 2016 European Championships and 2019 European Indoor Championships.


Ciara was a finalist in the 2019 World Championships and a silver medallist at the 2010 World Junior Championships.


Ciara qualified is a physiotherapist  (UCD) . Ciara also has a passion for camogie, it was her first sporting love. She always has a hurl and sliotar in the boot as she finds having a puc about is a good way to relax.


An advocate for giving girls equal opportunities to take part in and enjoy sport and is a real supporter of all women pursuing excellence whether it be the national game or on the International stage.
